TYPE OF WORKSHOP
Fashion / on-body material exploration and fabrication
During the workshop you will be introduced to production techniques and industrial yarns
The aim of this stage is to provide participants with a hands-on learning experience in textile futures and explore the role of experimenting in designing them. Different case studies will be
introduced to illustrate emerging design practices in the textile/soft domain. Starting from beginner level, participants will be progressively introduced to smart and functional materials. A series of small workshop-like activities will provide hands-on experience and methods based on material experimentation. In parallel, participants will be encouraged to work in small groups to reflect on the activities done, its implications in the design process and, a possible integration in their own practices.

PARTICIPANTS
The workshop is open to fashion designers and textile designers, as well as designers from other fields (such as architecture, interior design, product design or interaction design) who have experience in working with textiles and/or the human body.
Maximum 25 participants, working in small groups of 5.
